For this piece, I made the printmaking plate using cutouts from discarded cardboard—specifically from 'Puffs Ultra Soft Facial Tissue' boxes. You know how it is: you use each tissue just once. One pull, one sniffle, and then—poof—into the trash bin it goes. I like this 'rubbish-to-radiant' concept: taking something meant to be used once and turning it into something that can be appreciated on a wall for a long time. I suppose this piece serves as a little reminder that when life gives you used tissue boxes, you can still make something pretty cool out of them.
